New apps that are already making money

591 apps released in the last twelve months have made the App Store charts, and every one of them carries a revenue estimate here. Ranked by what they gross, not by how recently they shipped — a list ordered by date is just a feed, and the interesting question about a new app is whether anything is happening.

Median revenue, new apps
$5k/mo
Median, whole catalog
$30k/mo

A new app on the charts grosses a median of $5k/mo against $30k/mo for the catalog as a whole. That gap is the honest version of the "new app breaks out" story: charting at all puts you ahead of almost every app on the store, and still leaves you well below the apps that have been compounding for years.

What "new" means here

  • Release date, not discovery date. "New" is the app's own first App Store release, on or after 2025-10-26 — not when it was added to this catalog. A long-established app we started tracking last week is not a new app.
  • Charting apps only. Every app here already reached the App Store charts. The overwhelming majority of apps released in the last year did not, and none of them appear.
  • Estimates, not filings. Revenue and downloads are worldwide monthly estimates of App Store transactions, before Apple's commission.
